Eric Bradley and Bill Roberts were both finance majors at Eastern
Michigan University who dreamed of owning their own company
and working side by side. Their careers followed a similar course
with Eric joining Great Lakes Bancorp with a focus on residential
mortgages. Bill joined Great Lakes a little later, focusing
on commercial lending, eventually rising to Assistant Vice President
of Loan Review, reporting to the Vice President to assure the
quality of assets.
After Great Lakes Bancorp changed ownership, Eric left for Tranex and was again
followed by Bill, as they both searched for a new opportunity. Bill left his cushy
corner office and commercial lending behind, knowing that this was just another stop
on the way to their own business. After Tranex was sold, Bill and Eric decided it
was time to do things their way.
The partners started with an idea - a daring and amazingly simple concept based
on the premise that clients must come first. This idea was fueled by the founders
desire to re-invent the loan application process; to turn it inside out and upside
down in order to place the client up front and center every single time.
Believing in their idea and driven by the desire to create a new model of lending,
Huron Valley Financial was formed in a leap of faith that opened the doors in
January of 1998 without a single look back.
The founding partners of HVF are friends. So it makes sense that they would
foster a collegial work place atmosphere. Unlike other firms that operate
with a strictly enforced hierarchy, HVF loan officers are empowered to serve
their client in the best possible way. From pricing to rate recommendations,
application processing and selection of the best correspondent bank, HVF loan
officers can deliver streamlined and personalized client service without
interference from managers who are disconnected from the process.
We'd call it a philosophy but that sounds too self-important.
Here's what we believe and what we put into practice every day.
- Work hard.
- Play hard.
- Stay healthy - at work and at home
Remember, work is a way to help improve your quality of life - it's not your life.
